Wessex Economics has worked intensively over a number of years on the regeneration of three of the most disadvantaged towns in South East England; Hastings, Margate and Clacton-on-Sea; and specifically in the most disadvantaged neighbourhoods in these towns. The work has involved working with the relevant authorities, to develop intervention strategies; and then to secure funding through the South East LEP to support implementation of the Councils’ regeneration strategy. The work entailed Green Book compliant appraisal of the funding application. Ultimately, an additional £2 million was secured to support specific interventions in each Authority’s priority neighbourhoods.
